Top 10: New Car Models we Will See on The Streets in 2021.
Some of the new car models have already been presented last year, while others will have their premiere this year.
In 2021, a large number of new interesting car models will arrive, from the low-budget ones to the most luxurious models.
As never before, there will be a number of new electric car models on the market as a clear sign that the car industry is gradually switching to a different type of drive.
On this occasion, we have singled out 10 new car models that will mark the year ahead.
1. Alfa Romeo Tonale
The second Alfa SUV was announced almost two years ago with a concept that debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. Fans of this Italian brand are looking forward to the production version.
The premiere is planned for the spring of 2021, and it remains to be seen to what extent it will retain the attractive design of the concept version (shown in the photo).
2. Audi RS3 Sportback
The most powerful sports version of the new Audi A3 will also debut in 2021. It will be powered by a 5-cylinder 2.5-liter engine with more than 400 “horsepower”, and power will be transmitted to all 4 wheels.
An even stronger Audi RS3 Plus with 450 hp has also been announced.
3. BMW i4
A production version of the eponymous BMW concept will be unveiled in June. It belongs to the latest generation of electric cars from the Bavarian manufacturer, which includes the SUV iX, which had its premiere in 2020.
As announced, this 530 hp electric sedan, with a battery capacity of 80 kWh, will have autonomy of up to 600 km.
4. Citroen e-C4
The latest generation C4 had its world premiere last summer, but the first copies will reach their owners in 2021.
The focus is on the electric version with a 136 hp engine. The car can reach 100 km / h in 9.7 s and can cover up to 300 km with full batteries.
5. Dacia Spring Electric
Dacia Spring is one of the most affordable electric cars that will be available to European customers in 2021.
Equipped with a relatively small lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 26.8 kWh, which is powered by a 45 hp (33 kW) electric motor, it is able to travel up to 225 km on a single charge.
The Romanian manufacturer will first launch the Spring Electric model as part of several car-sharing services in Europe (earlier this year), and private buyers will be able to order this car in the fall of 2021. The price will be announced later.
6. Mercedes C class
With the introduction of the new generation S-Class in 2020, Mercedes will launch a new generation of its most important model, the C-Class, this year.
The premiere is expected in March, and the design of the car should be reminiscent of the larger and more luxurious S-Class.
It is based on the MRA mechanical platform with rear-wheel drive (Modular Rear Architecture), and in addition to petrol and diesel engines, variants with hybrid drive will also be available.
7. Nissan Qashqai
The third generation of one of the best-selling compact crossovers in Europe will also premiere this year.
The Japanese manufacturer revealed that the new model is 35 mm longer, 32 mm wider, and 25 mm higher than the outgoing version. The wheelbase has been increased by 20 mm. In addition, the boot capacity has increased by 74 liters.
The new Qashqai will be available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. Diesels will no longer be on offer, but that’s why there’s a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol with a “mild” hybrid drivetrain.
8. Renault Megane Conquest (Arkana)
The compact coupe-crossover, which will be sold in Europe under the name Renault Megane Conquest.
Namely, immediately after the launch, Arkana provoked reactions in our speaking area with its name. French manufacturer decided to use a “more neutral” name, which is associated with the already proven and popular Megane model.
The Megane Conquest is powered by an E-Tech Hybrid with a total power of 140 hp. In addition, two so-called “mild” hybrids with a 12-volt system (TCe 140 and TCe 160) will be available. When it comes to the classic E-Tech hybrid, it consists of a 4-cylinder 1.6-liter petrol and two electric motors.
The two mild hybrids under the hood have a 1.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol. The weaker version produces 140 horsepower and the stronger 160 hp.
Renault Megane Conquest will arrive on our market in the first half of 2021, when the price of this model will be known.
9. Toyota Yaris Cross
Instead of inventing a special name, the Japanese manufacturer used a well-known name from its portfolio for the new small crossover — Yaris, to which it grafted the Cross label.
The car belongs to the increasingly popular European segment of subcompact crossovers, and since it shares a mechanical platform with the new Yaris, the Cross has retained the same wheelbase of 2,560 mm.
However, the body overhangs in the front and behind the rear wheels in total are 240 mm higher, so the overall length has increased to 4,180 mm.
The Yaris Cross has a hybrid drivetrain consisting of an electric motor and a 3-cylinder 1.5-liter petrol. The total combined power is 116 hp, and one of the comparative advantages of this car is all-wheel drive, which is a rarity in the segment of sub-compact crossovers in Europe.
The Yaris Cross will be manufactured at Toyota’s plant in France, in addition to the standard Yaris, and the Japanese company plans annual production of over 150,000 vehicles.
10. VW Golf R
Volkswagen unveiled the new Golf R in November, as the icing on the cake of the eighth generation of its compact hatchback.
Under the hood of the most powerful production Golf in history is a 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 320 hp (235 kW) and has a maximum torque of 420 Nm.
The car accelerates from 0–100 km / h in 4.7 seconds, and top speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h.
The new Golf R arrives in showrooms this year, and the price in Germany starts at 42,259 euros.
In 2021, other interesting models will arrive on the market, which we did not deal with this time, and to which we will certainly pay attention as they appear in showrooms.
To name just a few: the electric Audi e-Tron GT, the Audi Q5 Sportback, the BMW 4 Series Convertible, the electric SUV BMW iX, the electric sports crossover Cupra El-Born, the new Kia Sportage, and others.
