The Parents Are Suing Their Son Because They Have Not Yet Received a Grandchild
Retired Indian parents from the northern state of Uttarakhand are suing their only son and daughter-in-law because they did not ‘give’ their grandson even after six years of marriage.
They want compensation worth almost $ 650,000 if they do not get a grandson or granddaughter within a year.
Parents are suing son! Where you can hear this? “We want a grandson or granddaughter within a year or compensation because I spent my living on my son’s education,” Sanjeev Prasad told reporters, explaining that in 2006 he sent his son to pilot training in the United States, which cost him $ 65,000.
The son returned to India in 2007 but lost his job and the family had to support him for more than two years, writes the Indian Times. Meanwhile, the 35-year-old got a job as a pilot.
The amount of compensation includes the cost of a lavish wedding held at a five-star hotel, a luxury car worth $ 80,000, and the payment of a honeymoon for newlyweds abroad.

His parents say that in 2016, they arranged his marriage with a girl who is 31 years old today, hoping that he will have a “grandchild with whom he will be able to play” in retirement.
“The biggest problem is that we need a grandson at this age, but my son and daughter-in-law don’t care about us. We arranged his wedding hoping that one day we will become grandparents. Six years have passed since then,” he said.
“We feel like, despite having everything, we don’t really have anything. We are very unhappy,” he says.
The court accepted the lawsuit, and the hearing will be held on May 17 in Harvard, a city in the northern state of Uttarakhand. Prasad’s parents’ lawyer said the couple was asking for money because of ‘psychological cruelty’.
