“My Children Are Spoiled Brats And I Hate Reading Them a Bedtime Story”: This Mother’s Confession Has Been Condemned by Many

She recently wrote an open letter to all moms who are afraid of being condemned because they don’t like their every second spent with children.

Laura from Melbourne admitted that her children are sometimes ‘brats’ and that she doesn’t want to always prepare dinner or read them stories before bed. She believes that parents should be honest and admit that they do not love their children every minute of the day.

But, in the announcement, she pointed out that it does not make moms bad, and parents should be honest about their feelings without condemnation.

I know I complain a lot about parenting, but that’s because raising children is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Every day is something new. Today I am frustrated, I cried, I felt guilty, I felt happy and loved, I gave love and all that in less than 24 hours. It’s hard for all parents. I think everyone should be honest about it — she said.

Why can’t we sometimes say ‘I just can’t make dinner tonight’ or that the thought of reading stories makes us ‘gouge our eyes off’. I want you to know that you can say that to me and I will never think that you don’t love your children because of that or that you are not grateful. Because you know what’s even harder than raising children? Pretending that it is not difficult — Laura wrote.
